NeuroUnity Event 2024

We had the wonderful opportunity to be involved in the NeuroUnity and Us event yesterday at Penygraig Valleys Kids. Hosted by Valleys Kids - Plant Y Cymoedd, Interlink RCT and the brilliant Family Team Valleys Kids. A morning full of insightful conversations about the services in RCT, what works well about them and how they could be improved. Along with thought provoking questions about what does neurodiversity mean to me? How can we encourage community support? and how accessible are services for neurodiverse families. Our brilliant young people from Rhydyfelin Youth Theatre, created a bespoke script in hand short performance with the writing support from Hannah Lloyd and directed by Kiara. This piece was about what neurodiversity is for these individuals. The young people got to share their stories of neurodiversity with a room full of supportive parents, organisations and services. We are very proud of them for being brave, telling their stories and for being so open and honest in the Q&A. Well done to each and everyone of you. Thank you for creating such a friendly, welcoming and supportive space and for inviting us to be part of the event Family Team Valleys Kids. We thoroughly enjoyed and learnt so much from being in the space.
