BBC Make A Difference Award 2025

What a wonderful way to recognise all the hard work that is done in Valleys Kids - Plant Y Cymoedd. A massive thank you to Kate Pearce for the nomination of Penygraig Valleys Kids (Bike Club) and for shouting about all of the incredible work that happens. For the Sparc staff, we have always called Bike Club our home and we are over the moon to be back in the centre of our community, working alongside the Soar team to deliver provisions that are much needed. None of the brilliant work that takes place in Valleys Kids could be done without all of the hard working staff, volunteers and partnerships that have been made over the years. We are so incredibly proud of what we have achieved and that making the BBC Radio Wales BBC News Make a Difference Awards has created so much more exposure about who we are and what we do. At the awards ceremony last Saturday, it was such a beautiful day, there were stories of people and places all over Wales, whether it was about rising awareness or celebrating the hard work of individuals, groups and animals. There truly wasn't a dry eye in the room. In a world that is so uncertain, it was so great to hear all the good that is happening across Wales and to celebrate it. @kirstenmcternanphotography- Instagram
