Penygraig Youth Theatre Production - The Lockout 2026
A piece of theatre devised and created by the group for a production performed at the Weston Studio, Wales Millennium Centre, in April this year. Fight, Flight, Survive brought together three groups: Platfform Next Up Academy, Sparc Penygraig Youth Theatre, and Mountview, Harris Academy Peckham. Each group created its own section of the show, exploring a period of time that held particular importance for them, before the three pieces were brought together to form one production. The Lockout is set in the Rhondda Valleys in 1910, at the heart of the coal mining era. The group will share their story of how a community may be driven to take strike action. We are so incredibly proud of Penygraig Youth Theatre for their wonderful performance of The Lockout last night each and everyone of them worked so hard and we couldn’t have asked for anymore from them. From the cast to the techies, you were all brilliant and should be so proud of yourselves. Thank you to the members of Rhydyfelin Youth Theatre for coming up and volunteering your time to support the group. Thank you to our wonderful audience for continuing to support your young people, we had 60 people in last night, your support never goes unnoticed.
